This is about your data and privacy.

WHAT IS THIS ABOUT

Regulation in the UK and the European Union requires any website handling the personal data of its citizens to make a policy available detailing what info we have, how its collected and why we have it.

The regulation is called GDPR and you read more about it here, including the new rights it gives users within the UK and EU.

SO, THIS IS OUR DATA AND PRIVACY POLICY

Our users’ privacy is vitally important to us and we hope this policy helps the understanding of all our customers and visitors, both inside of the UK/Europe and outside it.

We have tried to write concisely, in simple and easy to understand language.

When “our site”, “us” and “we” are mentioned, these terms refer to promixedwrestling.com, operated by PMW UK Wrestling Videos, based in Great Britain.

WHO COLLECTS DATA FOR US

Fact is we do not handle huge amounts of personal data but as a business selling products, we need to collect what is necessary.

Let’s break this down – the main collection and processing of personal information is carried out on our behalf by four service providers:

WordPress – our site is hosted on the wordpress.com platform (operated by a company called Automatic).

E-Junkie – provides our e-shopping solution and handles the emailing to customers of customs and downloads links.

Paypal – processes your payments for customs and downloads.

Amazon Web Services – our customs and downloads are kept in Amazon’s web storage, so when you are emailed a link to download videos you connect to Amazon.

Clearly there are a few familiar names here! Click on each company’s name to read its own data and privacy policies relating to GDPR and how they serve promixedwrestling.com and our users.

OUR SITE AUTOMATICALLY COLLECTS SOME DATA

Like most other websites, there is an automatic exchange of some data to enable you to visit our pages.

This is taken from the privacy policy of wordpress.com which hosts promixedwrestling.com

“We collect the information that web browsers, mobile devices, and servers typically make available about visitors to a Site, such as the IP address, browser type, unique device identifiers, language preference, referring site, the date and time of access, operating system, and mobile network information.”

An IP address gives broad information on where your device is connected to your internet provider and which one e.g. AT&T, BT etc.

Apart from technical reasons, anonymous data collected in this way can help us, for example, see how many visitors we have from certain countries or from which websites our users have been referred.

You will connect with Amazon’s servers, sharing your IP address and other technical information, to download a video.

YOU VOLUNTEER THE MOST PERSONAL DATA

Our customers volunteer certain personal information which enables us to collect your payments and email you downloads.

If you buy something from us – you will provide personal and payment information that is needed to process the transaction.

Paypal requests your name, physical address, bank/credit card information (if paying this way) and email address to process purchases.

Paypal shares your registered name, email address and sometimes your physical address with us and with our e-shopping service, e-junkie which aggregates information into a transaction log for us.

E-Junkie which delivers downloads to our customers requests your name, email address and location (country and post code) and automatically logs your IP address, all of which we can see.

Location information we are provided, including your physical address as registered with Paypal and the IP address of your computer, is crucial as it helps us to make sales tax/VAT payments depending on where you live.

SOMETIMES WE MAY NEED TO CHECK AN IP ADDRESS

We occasionally may need to check an IP address to help us learn where in the world the customer may have connected from, again to help us account for any relevant sales tax.

We use the IP address checker at NordVPN which has a no logs policy and it assures us that records of searches are not stored. For more information, please read its terms.

OUR THIRD PARTY COLLEAGUES ASSURE US OF TIGHT SECURITY

Records of sales and relevant personal data are kept securely by our four main service providers in the US and outside it.

We have secure online access to sales records from E-Junkie and Paypal for an indefinite period (see the legal reasoning for this below).

E-Junkie states it “has stringent security measures in place to protect the loss, misuse and alteration of the information under our control.”

Similarly Paypal says: “We maintain technical, physical, and administrative security measures designed to provide reasonable protection for your Personal Data against loss, misuse, unauthorised access, disclosure, and alteration”.

promixedwrestling.com also receives email notifications of each sale from both E-Junkie and Paypal. We strive to regularly delete these emails.

COOKIES (NON-EDIBLE)

Amazon, E-junkie, Paypal and WordPress.com all use cookies on their sites. This means promixedwrestling.com does too – remember we are hosted by WordPress!

Cookies are super common online – in WordPress’ words, cookies are “small pieces of data, stored in text files…widely used to ‘remember’ you and your preferences”.

One important use of cookies for us is the ability to find out how many visitors our site has had on a daily basis and which have been the most popular pages. We can’t identify individuals from this data.

As the video explains, cookies can be used to target ads to visitors. If you live within the EU, you must choose to accept cookies at promixedwrestling.com before WordPress.com will set, or allow its ad partners to set, cookies that are used to show you targeted ads. (You should have seen a banner pop up, asking you to approve.)

E-Junkie, which operates our e-shopping cart – says of its cookie use: “We use a small number of GDPR compliant tracking methods. These services use a combination of temporary and long-lived cookies to identify each buyer’s unique shopping cart instance. These cookies are only used for a better user experience and not for personal information tracking or internal use. These cookies don’t store any valuable information regarding the user.”

You can also refer to the privacy policy of each individual service provider regarding the cookies they use to interact with you.

THE LEGAL REASONING FOR WHAT WE DO WITH YOUR DATA

We require a limited amount of personal data to:

Run our website and provide you with our products i.e. so you can buy customs and downloads and these items can be emailed to you.
Manage our business e.g. to complete our own accounts, make appropriate sales tax payments and analyse sales.
Fulfil legal obligations e.g. protect our business from fraud.

Please refer to our service providers for their own policies regarding use of data.

OUR DOWNLOADS ARE NOT FOR CHILDREN

Although our downloads are not adult entertainment, we believe our content is suitable for mature audiences only. This is made clear on our downloads page. We will never knowingly engage with or sell to children and young people. We attempt to make content on our website PG in nature!

HOW WE COMMUNICATE WITH YOU

We currently do not process personal data for organised marketing purposes, for example a newsletter. If we do this in the future, there will be a clear opt in and opt out policy.

If you leave a message in the comments section of our website, we can see your WordPress.com username – as can the whole world online!

We update our social media pages with the latest news about the website.

We endeavor to reply to as many social media comments and messages as possible, some of which you post publicly.

Your social media friends may see what you’ve liked, shared or commented on at our pages.

If you email us or private message us on social media, clearly we can see your given identity.

We use Google and Yahoo email accounts to receive messages from you and from our third party providers which, if you’ve bought a download/s, contain items of information about you as discussed above under, YOU VOLUNTEER THE MOST PERSONAL DATA.

YOUR RIGHTS WITHIN THE EU

European data protection laws are complex and there are limitations to the below but, broadly speaking, EU citizens have the right to:

Request access to your personal data;
Request correction or deletion of your personal data;
Object to our use and processing of your personal data;
Request that we limit our use and processing of your personal data; and
Request portability of your personal data.
